We encourage you to consider pet insurance to help cover both routine and unexpected veterinary expenses.
Pet insurance operates differently from health insurance for people, so it is important to understand the process. With pet insurance, you still pay us directly and in full for all the services we provide, just as if you did not have insurance. We will provide a receipt itemizing the services we provided. After you have paid us, you will then submit your receipt to the insurance company for reimbursement. In most cases, you will work directly with your insurance company without further involvement from us. However, if the insurance company needs us to provide any additional information, we will be happy to do so.
There are a number of pet insurance providers, each with its own plans and benefits, so you should do your own research to choose the best company and best plan for your needs. To get you started, we have clients who have had good experiences with Nationwide (formerly VPI), Pets Best Insurance, ASPCA Pet Insurance, PetFirst Pet Insurance, TruPanion, and Petplan Pet Insurance.
